Simona Zaręba

Bio

Simona puts the final touches on her master’s degree at the National Film School in Łódź, Poland.

She has collaborated with various international directors, shaping visual storytelling, and draws inspiration from filmmakers like Ulrich Seidl, David Lynch, Wim Wenders, and Edward Lachman, striving for the same depth in her work. She enjoys working with film and has experience shooting on both 16mm and 35mm.

In 2024, she attended a residency in Busan, South Korea, where her documentary and film etude UMBRA were screened at the 8th Inter-city Film Festival. Simona was the sole cinematographer at the 3rd Eco Film Lab in shooting three short fiction films and a documentary, now in post-production.

Her film PROCH received international recognition, with a nomination for Best Cinematography at the 18th Grand Off Festival and a screening at Camerimage 2023 for Łódź Film School’s 75th anniversary.

Beyond short films, she has shot two music videos and a series of promotional spots for the City of Warsaw.
