His two most recent feature films had their premieres at the 50th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 2025. LIFE FOR BEGINNERS (dir. Paweł Podolski) won the Polish Feature Film Competition at the Mastercard OFF CAMERA International Festival of Independent Cinema in Kraków. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING (dir. Artur Wyrzykowski) also screened in the Main Competition in Gdynia.

Ernest worked on RADWAN directed by Teresa Czepiec, which was awarded Best Short Documentary at the Parnu Film Festival (Estonia). His feature debut, CAGED SWALLOW (dir. Bartosz Warwas), is the second full-length diploma film produced at the Lodz Film School, after Jerzy Skolimowski’s Identification Marks: None (1964).

Ernest honed his craft working as a camera operator alongside renowned cinematographers, including Oscar-nominated Łukasz Żal (The Here After, Cold War), Jerzy Zieliński (Man, Chicks Are Different, Summer Solstice), Monika Lenczewska (Strange Heaven, Under the Tree), and Michael Seresin (Gunpowder Milkshake). He contributed to Paweł Pawlikowski’s Cold War, which was nominated for multiple Oscars, including Best Foreign Film and Best Cinematography, and won the Silver Frog in the Main Competition at the Camerimage Film Festival.

Ernest has also worked on commercials for major international brands, including Decathlon, Wedel, and Maybelline. Julia Popławska’s Decathlon commercial, with Ernest’s cinematography, received the Papaya Young Directors Grand Prix in 2019.
