Bio

Piotr Pawlus is a director of photography who works on features, documentaries, and commercials. His latest project, THE INVASION (dir. Sergei Loznitsa), was selected for the Special Screenings section at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. He was also involved as a co-director in the project IN UKRAINE, documenting the war in Ukraine, with the film premiering at the Berlinale last year.

Piotr’s feature film, SHREDS (dir. Beata Dzianowicz), participated in the main competition of the 48th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. Additionally, for the short film REALLY AWESOME (dir. Katarzyna Warzecha), he received the Best Cinematography Award at the 11th Küstendorf International Film and Music Festival in Serbia.

Aside from his work in cinematography, Piotr is also a photographer and a climber. He has led numerous expeditions in the Karakoram, Himalaya, Pamir, Tien-Shan, and Caucasus. One of his notable mountain projects focused on Andrzej Bargiel, who completed the first descent of K2 (8611 meters) on skis. Piotr collaborated with Andrzej during the last three expeditions (Snow Leopards and twice on K2), and video content from these expeditions was prepared for Red Bull.
