Jakub Burakiewicz

Bio

Jakub is a director of photography, graduate of the Polish Film School in Łódź. Jakub’s latest feature project FANFIK is a coming-of-age LGBTQ+ feature for Netflix. He also cooperated as a camera operator, and II unit DOP for GREEN BORDER, directed by Agnieszka Holland.

Jakub received a Special Prize for Cinematography for his beautiful work on the previous feature film TRIPLE TROUBLE 2 at the Children’s Film Festival in Seattle. This family comedy with detective main plot also gave space for sequences straight from action movies.

The documentary HERBERT, A BARBARIAN IN THE GARDEN with his cinematography premiered at the 18th edition of the Millenium Docs Against Gravity Festival. The latest short film, MY SON LOCKS HIMSELF IN THE BATHROOM appeared in the national competition of the 61st Kraków Film Festival, as well as in short film competition of the 46th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.

Jakub is working on features, documentaries, short films, and commercials in Poland and worldwide.
