Dekel Berenson is a director, writer and activist.
Over the past three years, he has combined his two passions, making artistic films of high quality that bring to light real-world social and humanitarian issues.
His second short film, ‘Ashmina’ won several prizes, including Best Short Film award at the 59th Krakow Film Festival and Best Live Action Short at the 36th Jerusalem Film Festival, qualifying the short to compete for the upcoming Academy Awards.
His third film, ’Anna’, premiered as Official Selection in Competition at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival.
At 22nd British Independent Film Awards it won Best British Short Award category.
Dekel has teamed up with actor Paul Wesley to produce a slate of character-driven social realist features. Under the formed Three Color Films banner, the two are developing several projects, all of which carry an underlying social and political tone, inspired by the likes of Andrey Zvyagintsev, the Dardenne Brothers and Celine Sciamma.
